The competition called for 40 social housing units in Ibiza, to be built on an irregular urban site and in compliance with strict building codes.

As stated in the explanatory text, this proposal addresses factors of common sense, simple construction, maximum privacy, effective control of light, clarity, and flexibility. All of this within a net floor area of 90 m2 while once again offering, although quite reduced, a diagonal space with diagonal light as the living room with a private garden in continuity with it. Easy access to the rooftop terrace is also proposed. The building complex, with respect to the city, maintains the tension of a continuous urban fabric, that includes, in the true sense, these “side by side” houses.

The entry was awarded a third prize and was well considered by the jury, which considered the scheme “good but inviable.”
