Alberto Campo Baeza

This project was developed within the predetermined massing for a planned series of seven-story towers, measuring 27 x 18 meters in plan. Located in Barcelona, these towers are to face onto Ciudadela Park. A rigorously ordered floorplan with a central core is adopted in order to obtain maximum flexibility.

Light is controlled by the horizontally banded glass facade, divided into transparent and translucent stripes which vary according to the facade’s orientation.A stone podium is formed on the ground floor, serving as a continuous connection between the various towers, responding urbanistically at the street level as well as resolving issues of security.

The structure is light, metallic. Up high on the roof-top terrace, with amazing views of the city, a crystalline belvedere is formed upon a continuous stone plane. The glass architecture proposed here, almost built by the clouds themselves, once again is the expression of a sought after essentiality.
