The San Pablo CEU University, Madrid, has given the honorary degree Doctor Honoris Causa to the architect Alberto Campo Baeza.

The San Pablo CEU University is one of the most prestigious private universities in Spain. Founded in 1933 by Angel Herrera Oria, it is a private University, recognized under Spanish Law 8/1993 and established by the Fundación Universitaria San Pablo CEU, the work of the Asociación Católica de Propagandistas (ACdP).

Alberto Campo Baeza is an architect and tenured professor since 1986 at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in the Madrid School of Architecture, ETSAM. He has also taught at some of the greatest schools of architecture around the world, such as the ETH in Zurich, the EPFL in Lausanne, the PENN University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and many more. He is currently Emeritus Professor at the UPM where he continues to teach. And he is Full Member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, Spain.

He has received widespread recognition and awards for his work including the Arnold W. Brunner Memorial Prize of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the Heinrich Tessenow Gold Medal in Germany, and the Mexican Attolini Prize. He has been awarded the 2018 Piranesi Prize by the Accademia Adrianea in Rome.

The honorary doctorate was awarded at a conferral ceremony on March 2, 2018.
