1996 ELSA PERETTI FOUNDATION
Texts
As the final note in the long process of recuperating a group of the town’s historic buildings, a few key pieces are inserted to mark the image of the Foundation established by Tiffany’s celebrated designer, Elsa Peretti.
The intervention is basically composed of three pieces which incorporate three different themes of light: a very vertical room with small perforations in its ceiling which cast a rain of solid light, much like the baths in the Alhambra; a large and high room functions with vertical light; and a walled rooftop terrace with fragrant trees as a secret garden. These three conveniently connected spaces form the Elsa Peretti museum, almost as if it were a home for Danae herself, all with an economy of means and the gift of precious light.
