1994 CLASSROOM BUILDING LOECHES II
Texts
It was necessary to enlarge with a new classroom building the school which had already been added to in 1989.
The addition is planned as a continuation of the first. If in the fomer was like a rampart wall, this is its prolongation, resolving the corner and thus completing the whole.
The elementary program is presided over by the entry hall, which resolves the existing sectional change with its double height. Diverse openings are placed according to the tensions of the surrounding scenery. The light in this space is manipulated by perforating the ceiling in such dimensions, that the result is a virtual “rain of light.”
The same constructional techniques are employed as in the first building, with the closure walls of stone masonry in continuation with the walls of the adjoining convent walls, to which the whole is sown.
